When has knowing what you’re talking about ever been a prereq for running a blog?

The bloggers are just pushing buttons. Editors are the ones that make the system work.

Quoting stupid statements from overzealous union reps even by respectable publications (see every story on police brutality). It’s certainly in bounds of acceptable journalism. It would of course be a bit better to add some snide commentary to the effect of “most sources we spoke to agreed that pilots are ultimately responsible for not crashing planes, though assistance from ATC can be helpful in that regard”, but I think in this case that statement was such an overreach it doesn’t really need fact checking.

I’m also shocked that the author missed a chance to snark on a competing publication .

That’s the real breakdown in the system here. Where was the editor?

For all the credit I give TYT (independent news, not afraid to have a spine, etc) they’re really bad when it comes to knowing how things work like planes, cars, motorcycles, games...or any form of tech. And they’re even worse on transgender issues because they’re like “let’s find the l esbian woman or the gay guy, they’re experts on trans folk, right?”

Splinter is so bad.... I can't think of anything they do of value. Even the posts by Jorge Ramos are sort of wailing, and propaganda bots made it there already.

As I cannot find a gif of Georgi operating a panel, I must refute your claim. Clearly Data was the one pushing buttons.
